* Garmin and Strava have to approve apps like Torque before we can connect to them directly. Both reviews are in progress. Until then, Garmin rides reach Torque through Apple Health. We hope to connect both soon.
What works on 25 hours a week doesn't work on 6.
Most training advice is written for pros who ride 25 hours a week. Most amateurs who train ride about 6 to 10. Tell Torque the days you can ride and for how long, and change them any week.
Train for what's next, whatever it is.
La Marmotte or the club's Sunday race: pick the date, and the plan builds toward it so you're fresh on the day. No event in mind? It keeps you getting fitter.
A few kinds of session cover almost everything.
You don't need dozens of complex workouts. Torque picks today's session for you and gives you the power to ride at. If you want something else, choose another from the list.
Two hard sessions a week do most of the work.
On a few hours a week, the hard sessions are what make you faster. The easy days let you recover, so you are fresh for the hard ones.
Every ride counts. No judging.
Club rides, commutes and short rides all count toward your fitness. Miss a day and Torque doesn't judge: it adjusts the week and helps you keep going.
How Torque plans your week.
Set a goal. Ride the sessions. Torque keeps the plan right as your weeks change.

What are you training for?
An event, a winter base, a kind of rider you want to become, or just getting fitter. Torque builds the plan around it.

Ride the session
Each session has its time, its power in watts and its heart rate. Ride it outside, or indoors on your trainer.
Change any part of the plan.
Something came up? Tell Torque.
Type it in your own words, like “sick this week” or “legs feel dead today”. Torque changes the plan and tells you what it moved.

Short on time?
Change the time and Torque makes today's ride shorter or longer to fit.

Don't fancy today's session?
Swap it for another that trains the same thing.
Just want to ride?
Add a free ride: the club ride, or a ride with no targets. It counts like any other ride.
Away for a week?
The plan works around it.
Build your own workouts.
Make a workout from scratch. The plan uses it on the right days: hard ones on hard days, easy ones on easy days.
You're a diesel.
Your rider profile, from your last 90 days of riding.

Ride indoors with your sensors.
Connect a smart trainer, power meter and heart rate strap over Bluetooth. With ERG on, the trainer holds the watts for you.
On your lock screen.

Common questions about Torque.
Do I need a power meter?
Torque is best with one: your sessions come in watts and your FTP is estimated from your rides. It works without one too: every session is set in heart rate from your own rides.
Which apps and devices work with Torque?
Hammerhead and Wahoo connect directly. Apple Health brings in rides, sleep and HRV, which is also how Garmin rides arrive for now. Direct Strava and Garmin connections are coming soon, once their reviews are done. Torque is an iPhone app.
Am I fast enough for Torque?
If you ride and want to get faster, yes. Torque starts from your own rides, so the plan starts at your current fitness.
How many hours a week do I need?
As many as you have. Studies of amateur cyclists who train put most of them at about 6 to 10 hours a week (2024, 2023). Torque plans around the days and hours you give it, and you can change them any week.
Does an AI make my plan?
No. Your plan is built by tested coaching rules, the same way every time. AI does two things: it turns what you tell Torque, like “sick this week”, into changes to the plan, and it writes the short notes you read after each ride.
Is Torque social?
No. There's no feed, no kudos and no leaderboard. Your progress is measured against your own riding, not anyone else's.
What happens to my data?
It's used to run your training and nothing else. It's never sold or shared with other riders. The privacy policy has the details.
When can I get it?
Torque is in testing now. Leave your email and you'll hear the day it's on the App Store.
